Matthias Richter
Matthias Richter is an experience design strategist who believes in the importance of vision as the catalyst for innovation. He specializes in working with clients to envision the next generation user experience within the context of a holistic and consistent design vision and how that design vision can influence the innovation process within a company. Matthias grew up in Germany, studied in Switzerland, worked in Japan and Denmark and founded a company in Italy collaborating with international clients. This experience has given him a deep appreciation for the wide variety of cultural approaches to problem-solving. He finds inspiration in Italian creativity, Japanese aesthetics, American process and pioneering spirit as well as German perfectionism. He draws from best practices in these different cultures to work with multi-disciplinary teams to translate a company's core values into unique and meaningful experiences for both its employees and customers. Prior to co-founding Syneo in 2002, Matthias worked for consultancies such as Frogdesign, Wiege and Bang & Olufsen designer Jacob Jensen with a range of clients including Mandarina Duck, Ducati, Gaggenau and Wilkhahn. He also led Motorola's Advanced Concept Group in Milan, pioneering future telecommunication user experience strategies. Matthias holds a degree in Industrial Design from Art Center Europe. He has been a visiting professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, Italy where he was profoundly influenced by the use of new technologies to enable groundbreaking user experience exploration.
